Stats:
  • MCAT (124/130/123/128) was a retest from January (124/127/125/126).
  • Biopsychology major with a minor in child development
  • CT Resident
  • White and female
  • Was fully committed to MD until I got my MCAT retake
Medical Extracurriculars:
  • Rape crisis counselor (400+ hours); transitioned to crisis hotline role during covid
  • Shadowing (~50+ hours)
Other Extracurriculars
  • 500+ hours of lab work, including an honors thesis
  • Mentor and coordinator role for program with children with disabilities (all four years of college)
  • Mentored preschoolers 1-on-1 weekly for four years
  • Leadership within an energy/environmental club
  • Mentored other premeds at my college
I have a committee letter summing up four LOR. I was so confident in my application until I got my score; I am feeling so lost and discouraged right now. I've considered a third retake, but that feels like a disaster. Please advise!!

You could receive interviews at some MD schools but you should also apply broadly to DO schools. I suggest these MD schools:
UConn
Quinnipiac
Vermont
Albany
New York Medical College
Seton Hall
Drexel
Temple
Jefferson
Penn State
George Washington
NOVA MD
TCU-UNT
Creighton
Loyola
Rosalind Franklin
Medical College Wisconsin
Oakland Beaumont
Wayne State
For DO schools I suggest these:
UNECOM
Touro-NY
NYITCOM
LECOM (all schools)
MU-COM
CUSOM
DMU-COM
KCU-COM
ATSU-KCOM
AZCOM
VCOM (all schools except Monroe)
