Hi,

I have applied to a long list of schools already because I was using my old MCAT score as the basis: 28 (10/6/12). I got my new MCAT score the other day: 512 (129/127/129/127).

I have a 4.0 GPA from a private university. I graduated last May and I am working full time in a cancer research lab. I have great letters of rec, great shadowing, leadership, research, and volunteering experiences, and a fine personal statement.

The money isn't too much of an issue because I am working now to pay for this cycle, but I don't want to throw it down the drain. I'm interested in MD schools in New York and in the northeast. I'm a Florida resident. I'm Hispanic/latino. I'm only interested in applying to mid to top tier schools now because of my new score. I have a lot of low tier already. I'm looking into schools in the Northeast that would look into my application and perhaps have non-rolling admissions as it is already September, or is that not too big of a deal?

Here's the current MD list. I know it's a lot of schools. I was insecure about my first score.

Your MCAT puts you around the upper 80's for percentile right? So that's somewhere around a 32 on the old version, which would make your app pretty solid assuming your ECs are good. I don't think the Puerto Rican schools are necessary unless you want to be there, other than that I think your list looks fine for the most part. You could try to add Pitt if you wanted as well, though I'm not sure what your odds will be there. At this point it's pretty late to be adding schools anyway, I'd really focus on the list you've got going now.
