Hey I have just finished my Kaplan material and I have been going through the practice materials and I wanted some help on this....I want to maximize my score and have a lot of experience going in, but is it a mistake to be taking 3 practice FL's a week...I have about 2 weeks until the exam. My scores go up each time but not by the amount I want them to go...does anyone suggest I keep working on my current method or should I cut down the FL's to 2 times or so each week with more emphasis on reviewing the FL's..on the days i dont do the full lengths i usually go over my answers and then revisit the concepts if thats why i got them wrong...any suggestions???

I'm taking a similar approach. My test is the 15th, and I'm taking a practice test every other day.

IMO, whether you continue with this strategy depends on what kind of mistakes you are making on your practice exams? Do they arise from not knowing the material, or do they arise from test-taking strategies.

If you are getting Qs wrong because you just don't know the material, then slow down with the practice tests.

I feel as though I "know" the material. My problems are more with test-taking itself, as in I attempt to solve problems in a round about fashion when the answers lie right within the passage. Occasionally, I'll discover a fact I simply didn't know. As such, I think taking lots of tests is best for me.

IMO a FL exam every other day will lead to a massive burnout which will result in you collapsing into a sobbing heap in the corner of your room or shooting up the nearest McDonalds when they give you a spicy chicken sandwich instead of grilled chicken.

How long have you been studying? If you feel at risk of burnout, don't do that. But if you're feeling good/fresh down the stretch... I say do as many tests as you can, as long as you can review it and learn as much as you can from the entire test. That's probably 4 tests a week. So I think 3 tests would be safe if you're fresh.

That being said, you might want to give yourself some time to relax in between practice tests. Again, its more important not to burn out in the couple days before you take the exam.

I'm doing one every other day.

We'll see if I end up on the news within the next couple weeks.

Haha, that's funny... I am doing mine every other day for the next week to week and a half but then every 2-3 days for the last 2 weeks.

i've done one every day for the past week, beginning to think its too much 😛 luckily i have a 3 day break soon

i am doing mine every three days. Seems fine for me but it just takes way too much time to go over them.

It is all dependent on how long it takes you to thoroughly analyze your score report. Your plan of attack is actually the one many, including myself, have been on. Of course, I have taken time off from basically everything and can devote the whole day to studies, so 3 full lengths a week are normal. I am not sure what else you are juggling, but if you are sprinting to the finish line with focus undivided, 3 FL/ week is just right, and fatigue just doesn't seem to settle in why you are consumed in the desire to excel.

Good Luck & Press Forward!

How can anyone shoot up a place after getting a spicy chicken sandwich. They're just too damn good..

3 FLs a week is definitely doable along with review. if you start on a monday for example, do 1 FL monday, review on tuesday and continue until your last FL on fri. then on sun, you can go over them again or review weak points etc.
