Hi all,

Looking to get another opinion:

Midway through my academic career I had to withdraw from school for one semester to deal with some family issues (illness in family). I resumed the following semester at an institution closer to home. My Cum GPA is 3.9x and sGPA is 3.9x.

On my AMCAS/Personal statement should I mention why I withdrew and transferred? Except for this anomaly, my application isn't bad: High GPA, Research with Pub, 1000+ hours shadowing, clinical experience, EMT 1 summer, CPR instructor, leadership (Auto club president), volunteering, rock solid LOR's

My Premed Advisor told me not to bother, but I'm worried that perhaps the fact that I formerly attended a high ranking institution and transferred to a low ranking institution will hurt me.

I wouldn't worry about it. Just be prepared to explain, if asked during an interview.
