hey everyone! I am currently applying to medical school and I am looking for advice from those with experience on an admissions committee! I am questioning whether I should discuss my grade trend in the "anything else" section of secondaries as I am seeing conflicting info online, and I also haven't been able to find a very similar situation to mine.

my mcat is in the 517-521 confidence band, and both my cGPA and sGPA are a 3.65, however I took 5 years to graduate because of multiple majors.

The first 2.5 years I had some semesters that were on the lower side and the last 2 years I have had straight A's and A-s. my lowest grades are 3 B-s, one in a random course early on, 1 in Orgo 2 and 1 in physical chemistry.
no major circumstances that caused my grades, just took me some time to learn how to study well for 3-4 science courses i took each semester while working 30 hrs/week. some people say don't mention grades unless youre told to, but I had a few semesters that were shaky so I am not sure if i will leave the adcoms with unanswered questions if I don't address it at all.

i am applying to a mix of schools, some more competitive than others. I am an urm, low income first gen student.
thanks for the advice!

Not atypical and I could almost predict when you took O-chem and P-chem. Nothing to explain. If one year were < 2.7, you'd have something to explain but not as it stands.
