Medical Should I do a DIY Post-Bacc? Do medical schools ADCOMS not like to see so many undergraduate credits?

I will be graduating with a 3.5 with 208 credits. If I take 50 more credits over 3 semesters post-baccalaureate, I can get up to a 3.6. Do medical schools not like to see so many undergraduate credits? I would really love to be able to attend an MD school. Thanks.

Your GPA is far more important than how many credits you've taken.

With your GPA, I would suggest taking the MCAT as that will determine your chances.

While you may not get into Harvard/Stanford class schools, there are still tons of MD schools for whom your GPA is competitive. What is your sGPA? Any rising GPA trends?

Also, it's not not worth the investment in time/money to raise your GPA. Bulk up your ECs, especially for service to others less fortunate than yourself. Many of the schools where you chances are better are service loving schools.

Science Gpa will be 3.55. I have rising trends. First two years (58 credits): 2.56. Last two years of college (130 credits): 3.9. Last two years is when I took predominantly most of my BCPM courses.

To directly answer the question: it depends on the school, but I don't know that many schools that consider it a red flag if an applicant presents a ton of undergraduate hours.

50 credits? 20+ classes? Might as well do a SMP if you have that much time and money to burn... what classes do you have left for 50 credits?

No, the difference from a 3.5 to a 3.6 is nothing and that's a ton of money, time, stress (and it's not even a guarantee you will get straight A).

Can you be more specific than "more"? Plenty of students have gotten in with fewer than 20 additional courses.

By "more" I mean that 50 credits will bring my gpa from a 3.5 to a 3.6. I personally think that that is a big deal, but I'm not sure if adcoms will.

If you had to take 2 classes to do it, it may be worth it. I think the point everyone is trying to make is that 50 credits is a ton...and the chances that you will actually get straight A's is not high...basically it's not worth the squeeze.

If it will improve your GPA, it's a good thing. Number of credits is not as important as your GPA.
