i know for contacts its 1 yr, but lets say i have a average pt with no eye problems and i write them a SRx that expires in 2 yrs. can i still see them back in 1 yr or does it have to be 2 yrs?

and say i have an older (60-80) pt with no problems and i give them a Srx that expires in 2 yrs, I can still see them in 1 yr based on their age.

im just wondering because im sure some patients will say, why do you want to see me in a year if the glasses are good for 2 years.

You can see patients as frequently as you want to. You can't bill two comprehensive exams within a certain period, generally speaking. You would need to bill an intermediate or office visit.

do most insurances allow for a CEE to be covered once per year.

and do you ever get asked why Rx is good for 2 but you recommend reexam every 1 year. how do typically explain that if they ask.
