Hello all, I am in dillema whether I should retake failed major course ( Neuroscience) that I got a D in but not a pre-req for medschool course. This class however is considered as a science GPA. My counselor said that I can graduate because the institution considers D as a passing grade.

Right now my Science GPA is at 3.0 with downward trends up till Summer 2019. (I was not enrolled in fall 2019). I came back to school in Spring 2020 took 3 nonscience and 1 science courses where I received an A- in a science course and a mixture of A & A- in nonscience courses.

Would I be better off taking a different science class such as microbiology (300 level), cell bio (200 level), genetics (200 level), botanical medicine (400 level),etc than retaking the same course?
(The failed course was a 300 level)

Any thoughts/advice would be appreciated.

Thank you for taking your time and effort in advance. :))
Do not retake it.
