What ethnicity? If Hispanic, which community?Hi, I received my MCAT score a few days ago and have been going back and forth on whether I should apply this year or re-test and apply next year. I scored a 509 (in my AAMC practice tests I was scoring around 513-516). By the end of my studying I felt like I knew and understood the test well and what had to be done. I burned out a bit in the last week and test day did not go very smooth.
I am a non-trad and after taking over 100 post-bacc credits:

sGPA:3.29
Post-Bacc GPA: 3.85
URM, NY Resident, bilingual, first-gen
My undergrad was at an ivy
Research: Worked in an RNA-protein lab part time for a year and a half; Since then have been working in a neurodegeneration lab full time for three years while taking classes. 1 publication, 3 poster presentations and conferences, 2 papers in progress to be submitted
Clinical: 230 hours as a patient navigator at hospital, 30 hours at a free clinic and 30 hours doing Naloxone training for opioid overdose (both associated with a medical school in the area), 2 medical brigades abroad (1 week each) in South America, 1 summer internship at a public hospital in south america, 1 summer internship at hospital pharmacy in Spanish speaking community
Shadowing: 40 hours shadowing following specialties: Pediatrics, ER, Surgery and Family Medicine; Also shadowed while participating in medical brigades abroad
Non-Clinical Volunteering: On the board for a non-profit organization that runs free sports leagues for kids, Taught sex ed in public high schools around the city, high school mentoring, college alumni association and interviewing incoming applicants, fraternity focused on community service
Extracurricular Activities: Part of dance ensemble throughout college, non-teaching adjunct in biology department, soccer teams
A 509 is a fine score.
