Hello all,

I recently took the MCAT for the first time and I am wondering if I should retake it/what are my chances of getting in? I got a 512 (127,128,128,129).

My cGPA is 3.42 with a strong upward trend (3.14 first year, 3.83 last year)

My sGPA is 3.20 with a strong upward trend (2.7 first year, 3.73 last year)

My EC's
Research: 500+ hours and a first author paper in review for publication
Clinical Hours: 1500+ as a CNA
Clinical Volunteering Hours: ~90 at a local hospital
Non Clinical Volunteering Hours: ~150 at Big Brothers Big Sisters
Various teaching/tutoring opportunities
Leadership positions in my old fraternity and in my rock band
50 shadowing hours with a emergency pediatrician, an osteopathic surgeon, and a family medicine DO.

Thanks in advance!

You are competitive for all DO schools with your stats so apply to at least 8 and you should receive interviews. For MD schools you could try these:
Vermont
Quinnipiac
Albany
New York Medical College
Seton Hall
Penn State
Drexel
Temple
Jefferson
George Washington
NOVA MD
Oakland Beaumont
Wayne State
Loyola
Rosalind Franklin
Creighton
The GPA-MCAT grid shows you have a 50% chance for a MD acceptance so definitely apply broadly to DO schools also.
