Should I take both Level 1 and Step 1?

Hello Everyone,

I am currently a Osteopathic medical student and I am wondering if I should take both Comlex and USMLE this upcoming summer. The fields I am interested in are pediatrics, IM, PM&R and radiology currently. I would also like to have the opportunity to specialize and do fellowships in all of these fields in the future as well. As a DO candidate, does USMLE step 1 score really matter for fellowships or should I just stick to Comlex. Thanks!

Taking Step 1 will open more doors for you, and with single-accreditation kicking in, you're only chaining yourself to the ground if you don't take it.

In terms of fellowships, I'm not sure if Step/Level 1 will have a significant impact on that...though I'm not 100%
