So basically I am scheduled to take the September 1st exam. I am thinking about voiding it, because I am nowhere near being close to having a score competitive enough for MD schools. I was thinking of voiding it and then restudying during my fall classes and retake it in January. I heard its good to still go take it and void it-- to get a feel for what the real mcat is like. I was thinking of taking AAMC 2 but I wasn't sure if I should hold off on taking that for the January exam. Honestly any advice would be appreciated.
Do you think I should take it and just see what I end up getting or should I void it?

The real MCAT is just like the FL, except you're in a room full of unknown people who you should generally ignore because of the cubicles and your earplugs + earmuffs.

You're clearly not ready, FL 2 wouldn't do much since your Altius scores are very consistent. I would just cancel. Remember voids still count towards your sit count. 3 per testing year, 4 over any two testing year period, and 7 for your lifetime.

I would void if I were you. Assuming you are not trying to apply this cycle, you will have plenty of time to study and take the MCAT for next cycle. I suggest taking it in April and then retaking in June if needed.

FYI - if the individual did NOT cancel on Th, the no-show ALSO counts as an attempt. So the choice becomes: no-show or take the test/void and treat it like a $300+ practice exam.

Yes you are absolutely correct. No-show is still an attempt, so if the individual had not cancelled on Thursday as I advised, might as well attend and void, and treat it as a $300 practice exam. Exactly as you advised.

AAMC FL1 being 495 is troubling. You should take it and void. Honestly you will learn a lot just from going and getting a vibe for how it will be the day you test.

The only factor that concerns me is your aamc fl1 and sample (yes its easier than the full lengths, but I would say a 80% average on a good indicator that you are in good shape). Strongly advise holding off FL2 and void. By the time you write again in 2018 a third aamc full length will be published and perhaps even more matieral. I thought I would defeat the odds last year, and plain and simple, I didn't, now I have a stain I can't erase. Please know that this is coming from a good place, and that I am very happy you are cognizant of the fact that you are not ready. Good luck.

Just a side note: I got 498 on altius and four days later a 509 on aamc, so take those with a grain of salt. Altius is super brutal but their c/p and b/b are amazing, psyc and cars are a ****show.
