Should I volunteer at ANY area of the hospital?

It seems like the hospital will not let me volunteer at their pharmacy because of the strict restriction. Should I volunteer at another area and hope that I could SOMEDAY volunteer at the pharmacy? OR should I try looking at other retail stores?

I would, yes. It will expose you to some pretty interesting stuff. I suggest the ER or PACU areas. You will be able to interact with patients and their families. It is very rewarding. While you are doing that, you could be looking for a pharmacy position eslewhere.
