As an osteopathic student we are only required to pass COMLEX to get into our rotations. Do you think it would be an advantage to taking USMLE during your 3rd year considering we will learn pharmacology better on wards and see interesting pathology cases thus the information we learned in med school better sticking? Also, taking USMLE step 1 3rd year would give us the extra time to study and do amazing on the exam. Any thoughts?

No. Best to take it before third year starts. You will forget lots of basic science info
