YES, the pre-med respondents who are 1) on SDN and 2) respond to polls are a selection-biased, small sample of all pre-meds, so the results aren't generalizable or valid.

NO, it's awesome when poll results confirm what I expect or want to be true, and when they don't I simply discredit them using the rationale for "YES" above.
 
i voted no, but i would say it's more because there's no claim that these represent pre-meds as a whole, so they're not really biased. they're exactly what they claim to be, polls of SDN users. so i find it interesting to see what this particular group thinks.
 
ok, sweet. much funnier. And sure I say keep the polls. If they disappeared, then the insecure dorks who like to comment on every thread why it is a stupid thread or not good enough just wouldn't have enough stuff to rage against.
