There was a previous post about using prometric to enlist for the USMLE. I'm a DO student and I have no idea how to sign up for the exam. There has not been any talk of how to do this at my school, so I'm kinda lost. Could somebody please fill me in! Thanks

First, you need to go to https://external1.nbme.org/ciw/servlet/candidate_menu and sign up for a username and password. NBME will get back to you in a couple of days verifying that you are a medical student. You will then fill out all the pertinent information and pay $450.

On the same site is a sheet you need to print off to fill out and take to your school so the Dean can sign off saying you have your school's approval to take the USMLE. You mail the sheet to NBME (takes 2-3 weeks for them to get everything) and they will send you an orange ticket approximately 2-3 days later.

Once you have this orange ticket you can go online http://www.prometric.com and sign up for a specific test day and test site.

Hope this helps.
