I know these guys basically only take rural/downstaters from IL interested in primary care and rural medicine. I'm from Chicago, but I applied there anyway. They sent me a letter last week saying that I wasn't rejected, but basically on a waitlist to get interviewed. What is that? Anyone else get this or hear news from SIU?

I and several of my classmates (c/o 2009) are from Chicago. We are decidedly a minority here, but it can happen. I don't know how much it "hurts" your application, just that it doesn't help much.
