I interviewed 11/18 in SF... I haven't heard anything yet.

etf, did you receive notification of the waitlist via email?

yeah, they sent it to me via email...they also said that I can update my file with new grades, test scores, etc.

I interviewed at St. Louis even though I live in CA because they didn't have any regional interviews available around the time of my interview. I interviewed at St. Louis on 11/15 and got an acceptance email on 12/16. The school is pretty cool. Great clinical opportunities.

For those of you who had regionals, how are you letting the interviewer know that you're interested in the school if you've never been to the school? I have a regional myself, but I only have the website to look up info. I don't know if it's adequate. 😕

It was adequate enough for me... In my interview I was asked why I wanted to go to SLU but I wasn't grilled on it. I gave some half-assed, mildly-intelligent answers based on stuff I read either on the website or in MSAR and things worked out ok.

I had a regional interview on the 19th of Nov. with Dr. Furman. She told me we should hear by January.

Thanks. Congrats to those who were accepted and good luck to those who are still waiting. That is interesting that etf was waitlisted but other regional interviewees haven't heard anything. So does that mean if you haven't heard anything you aren't waitlisted?

Maybe, maybe not. There is absolutely no way to know for sure. This whole cycle has taken a lot out of me and i'm sure everyone else who hasn't been accepted yet. An acceptance would be VERY nice!!

Don't worry about it. If SLU thought "less" of you for going to a regional interview, they wouldn't offer them. They are for both your mutual convenience. The staff seems to be very understanding about how expensive (and difficult) it is to get into medical school, and just want to make things easier for you. My interview never even asked why I wanted to go SLU (and well that he did not, since my prepared answer was very pathetic!). I think just some generic, glossed-over answer will suffice; your reasons for wanting to go to SLU will not be the centerpiece of your interview, unless you make it so. SLU understands that it is a solid, but not particularly famous/"flashy" medical school, and that not everyone is going to have personal, compelling reasons for wanting to attend.

Just curious, why exactly are you choosing Cincinnati over SLU right now? Is it because of the rankings?

And the cost. But I am not immune to being swayed by a...VERY generous financial aid package offer from SLU (yeah right, like that's gonna happen). Plus I think a public school atmosphere would suit my heathen self better. However, I have to admit I like St. Louis better than Cincinnati (the city).

still waiting... interviewed 11/18 in SF. I'm guessing that they didn't get to my group before christmas. I'm sure I'll hear something within the next few weeks.

Good luck to all and I'll let you know on this post if I hear anything!

I'll post when I hear something too. Good luck.

hi,

I will have a regional interview at Seattle in couple weeks. For those of you already did the regional interviews, can you guys briefly tell me the schedule of your interview day? since the interview doesn't take place at the school, the tour and other activities are not available, so how long it takes for a regional interview? THANKS

a half hour.. no more, no less. It's just an interview, you won't even receive any packets or anything.

Good luck!!

I received a small SLU brochure and my very own SLU keychain flashlight.
