Hi everyone, a little background: I will be starting my MHA (Masters of Health Administration) this Fall. I applied to 6 schools, and gained acceptance to 5, and whittled my choices down to 2.
At this point I am trying to decide between Tulane University and Saint Louis University. Both schools have strong programs (although SLU is ranked much higher by US News.) I like the city of St. Louis, and while I also like New Orleans it seems to be a really rough place to live these days, and there are some possibly silly concerns on my part (ie: nightlife is sort of weak, outside of getting drunk.) The cost of living is also much higher, if you want to live in a safe/safer area. Tulane has more of a "name", but I suspect that a school as highly ranked and as old as SLU will have cache in the health care world. My biggest concern is the "mobility" of the degree--it is important that I am able to utilize the degree in any part of the country, especially the East coast (where I currently reside), and I don't know if one school would be better over the other in that regard.
I was wondering if anyone here was attending/has attended/is familiar with either of these schools. I'd love any feedback on the cities, schools, programs, advice, praise, warnings, etc.
Thanks! 😀
