Hello
I want to know what is the diffrence between SMA12 and SMA13.And are they same as SMAC12 and SMAC13.

SMAC is a term that has persisted even though the grouping of labs has become a relatively less profitable thing to do. Many hospitals call their SMAC different things, and include different labs. Most SMACS include:

BUN
Creatinine
Sodium
Potassium
Chloride
AST
ALT
Alk Phosp
Bilirubin
CO2

Some exclude ALT, while some include Mg and serum globulin levels. Some include lipids,and some don't. Its more of a nursing issue, and something that doesn't take long to learn in any given institution.
