Ceonocyte remember that this is the research-related ranking which incorporates NIH funding into its equation. With that being said UW gets major dinero, I believe the third or fourth most in the country. Moreover, last year UW was in a three way tie for 11th place.

so now we have to PAY for all the details?!?!? how obnoxious!

Any idea where (approx) is the line for between top tier & 2nd tier; 2nd tier & lower tier? Just curious.

UCSF is looking good. They also picked up a spot in the Primary Care rankings, placing at number three.

In the primary rankings, I'm sure many don't care, but Michigan State droped from number 6 to 17! Did they change the way they do the rankings or are some of these schools simply changing?

i think ucsf will continue to climb in the years to come. they recently split w/ stanford cuz their joint hospital deal was a catastrophe that costed both hospitals over a hundred million dollars.

i expect yale to climb up a few spots in 2004 when they open a new research building in the med school area==more funding = higher research ranking = overall higher ranking.

15. Mayo Medical School (MN)•••••Last year UW was tied with Cornell and Baylor for 11th, ranked higher than UCLA (which was 14th?? I think?), and close to Stanford (#9?). Anyways, looks like not much has changed since last year in terms of UW rankings (it just moved up one spot, that's all).

Not much has changed...but go Pitt...on the move up to a tie for #17.

u-dub has always been awesome, at least according to my friends in seattle. superior instruction + research=#10 rank

I noticed that WashU eclipsed Penn and Duke and moved up to #3 behind hopkins and harvard.

last year WashU was tied for 4th with Penn and duke was in 3rd.
