So what are my odds of getting into dental school this late?

So naturally I'm freaking out a bit over my odds of getting into dental school, especially since my application is not getting in until pretty late. I'm waiting for my transcripts to process through the AADSAS office before I submit my application, but I plan on retaking my DAT in October. I have a double major in Biology and History with a minor in Japanese and Chemistry, a 3.5 GPA, an 18 on my DAT (which I'm pretty meh about, hence retaking), 35 hours shadowing, and about 300 hours volunteering/extracurricular activities. So what are my odds of getting accepted this late in the game? Should I wait until next cycle?

Most schools require 100 hours of shadowing.

Late application by the time it completes, average GPA, low shadowing hours, low DAT score, retake DAT score that won't be processed to schools until perhaps November...your odds are pretty low. I would strengthen your application for next cycle and really focus on doing well on the DAT rather than rushing to apply this cycle and wasting your money.
