Throughout my undergrad years I've been a pseudo-premed type, can't decide if I want to be a clinician or a researcher. Lately I've been leaning more towards the research side, in fact, I'm considering not bothering with an MD and going solely for the PhD. I would like to know why it is important, in your specific case, to obtain an MD with your PhD, or the flip side, why it is important for you to obtain a PhD with your MD. Personally, I feel an M.D. and clinical time will take too much time out of research, this of course applies vice-versa. I have interests in medical physics and imaging, maybe this focus is what places an MD out of reason in my case, what about you???
