SOAP eligibility

Two quick questions:

Am I eligible to participate in the SOAP if I do either of these two:

1 - rank and certify ONLY preliminary positions in my Rank Order List, with the idea of applying to advance positions during SOAP week?

2 - if I do not rank any programs during regular match, can I apply for categorical programs during SOAP?

From my understanding, if you rank and match into pre-lim, you are obligated to go there.

Please change your status - its listed as Pre-Med and that can confuse users.

Only if you don't match. If you rank and match into a Prelim position, you are not eligible for PGY-1 SOAP positions.

No, you must submit an ROL. Its gaming the system but you can rank any program you like, even ones you didn't interview at. You won't match there and then can participate in SOAP. Here are the criteria for SOAP.
