I realize this isn't a relevant thread, but I'm looking for some advice.

I'm about to cancel an interview and flight/hotel that I booked via Southwest. I just got off the phone with them and they said I would receive a credit, but not an email verifying the existance of said credit. I know Southwest is reputable and all that, but it does seem a little questionable that they won't send me any sort of verification.

Has anyone dealt with a cancelation and credit from Southwest?

I've done this in the past. If I remember correctly it was very easy to reedem and I did it all online. Did not have to call. Southwest is a good airline. Free checked luggage and generally no hassle. I was amazed how easy my ticket credit was to reedem.

United on the other hand is a bitch to reedem. Do not cancel a United Flight.

I have cancelled probably 8-9 flights with SW, never had an issue. If your primary contact was by phone, I'd say call them up and get the confirmation code or check your SW account online. I love dealing with SW and cancellations were never an issue. Usually the credit is tied to a long code of numbers and letters that is redeemable. Likely they will snail mail it to you, but I'd call just to be sure.

With Southwest, I believe you basically use your ticket number and/or reservation number as the "credit" (similar to a gift card). Make sure you hold on to that info. I'm sure it can be looked up using your name or credit card info in case you do lose it, though.
