St Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital Center Program on PROBATION

    Oct 20, 2007 it it true that St Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital Ophthalmology Program is on Probation???????????????

    That can happen for the most innocuous reasons, for instance if the chairman leaves and a permanent replacement has not been selected, or if a faculty position is vacated in one of the subspecialties, like neuro, which can be hard to fill. If these happen at the time of review, the program can be placed on probation.

    if you go to ACGME web site, the program is on probation.

    Yep, it's important to find out why the program is on probation, because that's the only way to tell if it's actually something important.
