My supervisor just received a letter from the admissions department from my first choice school thanking her for a letter she sent on my behalf, but then it goes on to say even though it will be given special attention they cannot necessarily assure an invitation at this time. I should point out that I work at this school and my supervisor is faculty at this school. And also my application is not complete. I 'm trying to be positive but I'm wondering what this means

I doubt it means all that much in a negative way, so don't worry about it. If your application is strong you're golden. If your application is only moderately strong, perhaps the letter from your supervisor will push the AdCom toward awarding an acceptance.

Just sit back, relax, and enjoy the remaining free time you have before med school.

Thanks so much for your response. I just called and they said my application is now complete. I'm so excited. Now I can watch the Yanks win game 3 in peace.
