With match day coming up and nothing better to do except qdaily liver rounds, I think that we should post the start dates of programs if you know them. I am most interested in knowing UCSF/BWH/Michigan/MGH. any info would be appreciated.

BWH Intern retreat is on June 9. Don't know when the academic part of the introduction begins, though.

MGH's orientation starts June 11th. June 25th may be the day you start on the wards.

The unfair thing is that we don't receive compensation or benefits during orientation - even if we are carrying the pager.. :(

How can you be carrying "the" pager if they're not paying you? I understand that pay during orientation does or does not happen, but to have you be doing clinical duties during orientation seems really odd.

At BWH, we did receive compensation during orientation (no benefits). Just an aside, 2-3 of my fellow interns skipped their medical school graduations to attend out intern orientation/bonding weekend. Hard core. They are some of my favorite people in the class.

This is mind-boggling. And excessively hard-core. I would never missing my medical school graduation for an orientation - besides, it is only one day!

yet, if those few interns are happy with their decision then it doesn't matter what I think....

So orientation is 2 weeks? Where did you get your info from? I only remember Michael Barry saying "June 25th" at the interview.

Anyway...this is just another last ditch effort to will away the next 1 day, 18 hours, 50 minutes and 3 seconds
