Starting a family during residency?

Hey all. I am getting married next month and would like to have my kiddies during residency, as I am already a bit older (very late 20s). Is it possible to do that and be actually able to SEE your kids?

Hey all. I am getting married next month and would like to have my kiddies during residency, as I am already a bit older (very late 20s). Is it possible to do that and be actually able to SEE your kids?

I think it depends a lot on where you are (i.e., how friendly the program is to families) and how far you live from the hospital. I'm a med student at Cornell, and I'd estimate that at least 25% of residents across the board have kids. I can't imagine everyone doing that if it wasn't feasible.
