I was formerly a member of the class of 2007 at an east coast medical school, but took a leave of absence after 2nd year to pursue research. I've been out of game for two years, and I'll be re-entering with the class of 2009 this summer.

My questions are:
1) What should I be doing to prepare myself for the clinical years. My gut tells me not to spend a lot of time studying "Step 1" style material, but I'm not sure what I should be focusing on.

2) What materials would you recommend that would serve as good review materials as well as good shelf exam prep.

Thanks in advance for your help!

I'd review history taking and clinical skills and then read over the common things about the common things that will be seen during your first attachment
