I have spent some time thinking about the ins and out of anesthesia work etc and am interested. While I feel like I have a sense of the work involved, I don't really have sense of the lifestyle (other than everyone says its good). Specifically, what is the range of starting salaries out of residency for a full time position. Has there been alot of variability in compensation over time - high/low cycles? Also, is it difficult to work part-time? Does anyone know the degree of burnout/people leaving the field/finding it boring after several years, etc.
