Is there a lack of evidence that statins prevent cardiovascular events in women? Here is an interesting 12 minute interview with the author of a recent meta-analysis that found no benefit (and maybe some increased risk) for women taking statins:

The paper takes more of a policy or legal angle, as both authors are lawyers at Cornell Law School, but it's interesting nonetheless and may portend future legal ramifications for pharma??
