Hi you guys 🙂 I submitted my application an hour ago. I applied to a wide range of schools from Johns Hopkins to so called "safe" schools (even tho I still think they aren't really the "safe" schools 🙁. Anyhow, I was wondering if those of you who have gotten into med schools can tell me your stats. It will help me alot during my application process 🙂 Thanks.

Some of those profiles have to be fake. A white male getting into Harvard with a 25 MCAT? There is no way-- it's a statistical impossibility.

Let me put it this way. If the average Harvard MCAT is a 34-35, and the average URM (20% of students) at Harvard has a ~31 MCAT, it is extremely unlikely that you could have many, if any, white applicants with 25 MCATs and maintain that 34-35 overall MCAT average.

What about the 10 kids with 40+. You know some end up at the old H-yard. Statistics are only a rough gauge in admissions, there is no way to tell where you are going to end up.

Stanford's Associate Dean of Admissions' wife is in the 2nd year medical school class and I'd just guess that she didn't have Stanford stats. Whatever man, don't stress about it. I gave up a long time ago.

i have to step up and say that jews and south asians are OVERREPRESNTED minorities in medical schools = it is just as hard, if not harder, for them to get into medical school as their white counterparts. bigotry only gets you so far before the facts pimp-smack you in the face 🙄 🙄

Couldn't have said it better myself. I hate people who think Jews are somehow scheming their way into top universities. To say that Jews never help out other Jews is ridiculous, but isn't typically underhanded or dishonest. It may seem that way because Jewish culture stresses education and hard work. Asians (Chinese, Indians etc.) do the same. What a shock that they end up being successful.

Whenever I encounter some nastiness like that, for some reason I act sinister to mock the accuser. I remember once in a movie, Denzel Washington tossed a racist southern white man a banana. The man was on TV the day before calling Denzel a monkey, and the banana served to basically call him out on his comments.

This is my last post about this subject. Let's either end this thread or get back to what it was originally for.

I don't know what happened and all, only she was my tour guide and told me that she was his wife. That struck me as weird.
