Hello Everyone!
I hope you are well, happy and working hard.
I am an International Medical Graduate and have started my medical school in 2013. I plan to sit for USMLE at the end of 2015. I study in Charles University in Prague, LFHK and they follow a six year medical curriculum.
I am at the end of my first year and have have finished my Biostatistics+Biophysics and Anatomy finals. I passed them both and got a Very Good in Biostat and Excellent in Anatomy. I am left with Histology and Embryology, hopefully I will pass them too!
Since I want to prepare for my USMLE early on, I would like to use this advantage of having loads of time to study and prepare and do my best. I have looked across a lot of forums for book suggestions but its just too many! I thought I would use this forum for my personal help.
So far I have:
1. FIRST AID Step 1, 2013 edition
2. Di fiore's Atlas for Histology, 15th edition.
3. Clinical Microbiology made ridiculously simple, 4th Edition
4. Lippincott's Microbiology 2nd edition
5. Lippincott's Biochemistry, 3rd edition
6. Before we are born by Moore
7. Anatomy and Physiology made ridiculously simple 3rd edition i think.
8. Dr Najeeb video lectures
9. Kapland video lectures 2007
10. Goljan Audio lectures
I know I may need to update some books because they might be old and probably but a few more if you recommend me so.
Next year I will be starting Physiology, Biology, Microbiology, Immunology and bit of Psychology.
Now I plan to do pathoanatomy and pathophysiology a bit while i prepare for my physiology. I study all by myself and I rarely atten lectures but i definitely try to attend my practicals a lot.
I would really be helpful if you people can provide useful suggestions to me in your free time and I wouldn't find making new medical friends here as my mentor. I have loads of time in my second year like my seniors said but I usually not the type to go to clubs and all so I would like to use the time to study and collect suggestions from your people.
Hope many of you are willing to contact me and help me out.
If you would like to ask questions and need clarifications, please post it out 😀
