It would be nice to hear from the recent test takers of their thoughts on what they would do differently if they could take the step 1 again. Any regrets of not studying specific topics etc.?

Thanks !!

1. Take your first full-length NBME practice test at least 2 weeks before test day. Don't push it off no matter what. Every day of studying after you take one of these is worth more than a day of studying before you've taken one.
2. Spend the last few days before the test consolidating the material you already know instead of learning new material.
3. If you are going to do any studying the day before the test, be done by 12:00pm. The test is long and you will add many more points by having clarity of mind than by anything you will memorize the day before.
4. Try to motivate yourself to study hard the first couple weeks, because as the test draws closer, you will have all the motivation you need!

I would have spent less time of beh sci and more on biochem/cell bio. But in the end, it's all random and/or dumb luck on what type of questions you will get.

Good luck.
