I am curious about how the USMLE come up with the two and three digit scores? I know that there are 7 sections on step 1 and one section is an experimental section (I think) which means there are 300 "real" questions. Is the three digit score simply the number of questions one scores correctly out of 300? I am hoping someone out there will have the answer. Thanks.
