Step 2 and Path

Surely a good score can only help, but does Step 2 mean much of anything to residency programs?

I did not think it influenced me much. I took it after I was finished interviewing, and then sent the results to the programs I did interview at. My feeling was at best, they were glad I passed and did okay on it. BUT, this year does have a different feel to it. If you feel you can rock Step 2 then take it early and have it as additional leverage. Also it is up to you to decide when you send the scores (by all means don't check off the automatic send option on ERAS.)

In fact, take it early anyway...you'll be so happy you did!

If you did poorly on step I then a high step II score would be a great help. Otherwise it will not matter as much. But a good score is always a little help.
