Can anyone comment on the CS PE maneuvers that are not allowed?

I think it's just breast, genital, rectal.

Are you allowed to use sharps, check corneal reflex, gag reflex?

Also, how about repeating vital signs, BP in particular?

What if orthostatitcs are indicated?
Obviously the values you get wouldn't be meaningful.

Thanks.

Point and sensation are allowed, use the hard end of a swab. Corneal and Gag are not allowed. If you feel that a specific case needs it, you should re-check. You always use the vitals that they report (on the paper) regardless of what you find. If you get a case of syncope, I think orthostatic BP is a good idea, but again report the vitals that are found on the paper they post on the door.

Wouldn't you just order orthostatic vs?

No reason to check corneal or gag reflexes. Unless you just really want to tick off your standardized patient. Just "order" orthostatics or any invasive exam you want to do. Oh, and don't repeat vitals, you use the ones on the door anyhow so you'll just be wasting time.

To do orthostatics correctly would take a least 3-5 minutes; if you wait properly.

I don't plan on burning all this time.
I would in real-life with no clock running.

I agree with everything in this post. Dont do orthostatics.

But of course you realize that when you have them stand you dont stare at each other for 3-5 minutes. You can continue to ask questions and talk to them...clock running or not
