Last year, it took 4-6 weeks to get the scores back (and submitted to ERAS.) Apparantley this was because they were changing the format of the test (decreasing the number of questions per section.) I took mine around Aug. 20th and got my score back on Oct. 4th.
I am not sure about the SF match, but if you want your score to be seen by the program, I'd take the test no later than early September. Even for the regular match, you may start receiving interview offers in late September.
If you do well and want PD's to notice your score (in addition to opting to release it), e-mail the secretary or PD and just say that you just got your Step 2 score and wanted to make sure that they received it.
