I tend to forget everything that has happened in the past 4 years (or more for many!) in order to get me to where I am today...There's just so many hurdles in this process.....I would like to compose a list of them in maybe some sort of an order....Feel free to add anything. I guess we can make it a "list" if ya'll want to>

Finish prerequisites
Study, Study, Study
Get no sleep
Do Volunteer Work
Do research
Wonder if you'd rather be a bum and live in a carboard box the rest of your life!
Get clinical experience
Get LOR's (what a pain!)
Take MCAT (need I even comment)
Write autobiography for committee
Buy a suit! Ick!
Interview with committe member
Write personal statement and vision essay
Fill out AMCAS application (eeekkk!)
Pay and send for AMCAS Application
Send Transcripts to AMCAS
Have LORs sent by Health Professions Office
Find out they didn't get to a couple of schools!
Send out secondaries
Pay more money
Go on interviews
Wait, Wait, Then wait some more!
Get rejected!
Get accepted! (if you are lucky as hell)
Wait, Wait, then wait some more!

I'm not complaining here people of couse we all choose this path and it will be well worth it in the end. I just find it amusing/amazing🙂 So please don't be mad at me🙂

that is a pretty comprehensive list
one thing I think you might have missed that has been part of the process for me (but thankfully no longer) is as you are waiting and waiting...thinking of what you're going to do now because obviously you are going to be rejected everywhere. I decided I was going to become a plumber and open up my own plumbing business (being facetious of course, but the things we do as we fret and worry!) 🙂

I changed and added to the list a little. Hope you don't mind.

-Finish prerequisites
-Worry about how much each upcoming exam will affect your chances of getting in!
-Deal with all the anal retentive competitive pre-meds
-Deal with lousy TA's and professors (not to mention weird) in basic science courses
-Get no sleep
-Do Volunteer Work/Community Service
-Do Research (who doesn't think it's boring?)
-Get Clinical Experience
-Wonder if you'd rather be a bum and live in a carboard box the rest of your life!
-Wonder if you have enough activities on your resume (no matter how many or how much you've done, there's always someone who did more)
-Get LOR's (what a pain!) (entails kissing up to the professor in most cases)
-Pay for MCAT course
-Take MCAT (need I even comment)
-Put up with idiot pre-med advisor
-Write autobiography for committee
-Buy a suit! Ick!
-Interview with committee member
-Write personal statement and vision essay

-Send out secondaries (Essays a pain in the rear)
-Pay more money
