Is there a simple way to determine stereochemistry from a newman projection? I'm having trouble converting a newman into the 3D structure and wanted to know if there was a way to simply get the answer from a newman.

If you have those molecular model/ ball and stick model kits it will help very much just for the first time to see how it is. Other than that, try to think in 3 dimensions I guess.

I'd agree. Think of it as a discrete skill you are tying to pick up, like a card trick. Practice with a model a few times until you get it right.
