USB has a good, solid program. They are currently trying to increase the number of residents from 8 to at least 10 and maybe 12 down the road. There is lots of ER time. Interns do 18 12hrs shifts per month and each year after that does 1 less per month (17 in second year, 16 in 3rd year). Very friendly place. Most attendings insist on being called by first name and a large number of them are graduates from the USB program. Residents get along very well. Only floor rotation is 1 month on peds, because of politics in the peds dept that says you need a month of floors to be in the PICU. There is 1 month of peds ER at Jacobi. The ER was redone a few years ago but is already overcrowded, so there are plans to renovate. I've found that at many program the residents do not get to work in the FastTrack area.
