I found this website tonight after I heard a new term today. I know I've been stumped more than once in the ER when a patient mentions what they've taken and mention a slang street drug term. Sometimes when I ask them what it is...they're not even sure!

It's missing a bunch, but is a nice start.
Feel free to add additional terms you've heard. The terms are constantly evolving, so it would be useful to keep it current if you hear of new things.

Great idea Anasazi. Its a shame there are too many to memorize. My first thought was whether they are going to incorporate these lists into med school pharm syllabi and force students to memorize them!

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers... Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls. Not that we needed all that for the trip, but once you get locked into a serious drug collection, the tendency is to push it as far as you can."

Here’s another site I’ve found helpful.

    http://www.erowid.org/

A lot of the contributions from the bathtub chemists are kind of goofy but they have the most comprehensive list of slang I’ve encountered.

This looks like a really good site--the info on drug testing is better than anything I was taught in residency.

From the psych ER - "bootie bump" which is subcutaneous (is that the correct term?) crystal meth injected in and around the anus to work as a muscle relaxant and anesthetic. How I kept my jaw from hitting floor when person described it I'm still not sure. Needless to say, organic psychosis from infectious disease was in the differential.
