Does anyone have any recommendations regarding a student health insurance carrier? How much are students usually paying per month and what sort of coverage is provided? Any information is greatly appreciated.

Are you an AMSA member? Because AMSA offers an insurance plan -- well, it's not actually AMSA, but their members can take advantage of it. In my limited checking, I found it to be cheaper than other plans, although I still thought it was a little expensive.

Go to http://www.student-resources.net/ and click on Insurance Brochures -- it'll bring you to a list of organizations for which they underwrite. Click on AMSA (or AMSA-NY) for info.

You also might want to check with SOMA (Student Osteopathic Medical Association) at each osteo school. I understand a lot of students are participating in the program and the national and local chapters benefit financially.
