Student hosting... for more than 1 day?

Hi everyone! I was wondering if I could get your input on this.

Is there such a thing as student hosting for more than one day? I am interviewing at a school that is wayyyyyyy out of town for me and I will be flying in 2 days in advance of the interview. Would it be against common etiquette to mention I am coming in early and would appreciate 2 nights stay if the host is willing?

I was just wondering because I'm really running low on application money (and most airbnbs nearby the school are $100+ unfortunately).

Any other ideas on where to stay?

I have arranged it for one of my interviews. It's entirely up to your host

Just ask your host directly. I did this a few times with a couple of students I hosted and did this a couple of times as a interviewee. Most were fine with it if they knew beforehand, but I would still make alternate plans in case they can't host you for a couple of days.
