Is it true that we can borrow an additional $20,000 from the stafford loan over the $18,500 that we can borrow? If so, are there any special requirements to be able to borrow thie amount? Also, I was wondering if there was plenty of funding for medical school that one does not have to worry about cost of tuition and living expenses once accepted. Can you borrow enough from the federal government to live on frugally while you are in medical school? If you are married and have a child, is this figured in with your financial aid or do your dependents no count as far as the amount you can borrow for living expenses.
