Hello everyone,

I was just elected as a student senator at the university I attend. I go to a very small university. I was just curious to know what others experiences were as a student senator? I'm basically looking for a non-fluffy answer to whether this is something time-consuming or not time consuming. I need to know this in particular as I am going to base my other extracurricular activities around it. As of right now, all I know is that we need to attend a 3 hour meeting once a month.

Thanks.

Who knows. I did student senate for 3 years in undergrad. For us, the commitment could range from almost nothing (a two or so hour meeting once a week) to intense (chairing committees, writing bills, etc.). One meeting a month is hardly demanding. But congratulations.

(sent from my phone - please forgive typos)

At my school a student senator just basically tries to get as much of mom and dad's money in as possible. lol.
