study abroad

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I think it does, and it also helps you grow. Only thing is that you have to be careful about transcripts and grades you earn while study abroad (they are not processed like the ones in the U.S. by AAMC).

Are you joking? It's a HUGE plus.

thank you, i am really excited about going!!!

You should be 🙂 Studying abroad is great for a variety of reasons. Not that this should matter much, but its an instant plus over any applicant that didn't go abroad. Plus, through your abroad experience, there may be several things you can do to enhance your application like working with the poor, etc. In my case I was able to have an awesome life changing experience which I am sure did wonders for my overall application. Good luck and have fun!

I spent more than half of my undergrad and grad years abroad. It hugely helps your application. (Provided it's not to an Australian beach or the like 😀 )

when i studied abroad, the university sent us the US grade we would have based on what our grade was at the uni. like, the grades are from 0-20, and they send you a convresion chart where they say 16-20 is A+, 15 is an A, and so on. so maybe other schools do the same.

Any body know of a good school to study abroad at? which school has a good pre-med/science program?

Obviously I'm biased, but UD has awesome study abroad trips. I just got back from Argentina and Antarctica... 😎
