Anything with foreign or no lyrics work well when I have to read for long stretches. If it's math/physics/chem then it's whatever

Sigur Ros is my study music of choice. "( )" is one of my favorite albums of all-time.

soft music is fine.

lol ya takes some getting used to...but when 1/3 of your library is tupac you cant miss it

lil jon and the eastside boyz

Coldplay and Red Hot Chili Peppers.

But I give mad props (am I saying that right? ) to anyone who can listen to rap music while studying, because that takes some serious concentration.

Peace out, shizzle shizzle.

I'm with kevster on this one for the concentration aspect. If it's programming, math, physics, hell, anything without reading I can have my temporary rock-out moments of air druming/guitar/singing along to pump me up (311, weezer, blackalicous, mosdef, Eazy E to Tupac, Benfolds etc). But if I have to read, it has to be more sigur ros, clasical, you know, ambient stuff that doesn't grab my vacillating attention.

Explosions in the Sky

Vivaldi, Beethoven, Placebo...mostly rock and classical

I can't listen to anything with words. Generally, I play some sort of classical or jazz music. I try and make sure the music is strictly ambient and is not something I recognize. Hope that helps...

Norah Jones, Coldplay, and soft classical.

I always see these people listening to music while studying in get so damn jealous. I have to go to a far away place (where I know it'll be a pain to go home), bring only what I intend to study, a pencil, pen, highlighter, and a notebook and sit there in perfectly silence without my cellphone or anything to distract me...I am that bad. If I hear one person talking I am screwed. Except if it is a boomy kind of museum enviroment where I can't hear specific words..then I seem to be ok. But yea...I think I am frickin ADD..but aren't we all I guess

slipknot, disturbed, korn, 32 below

Try Brian Eno's "Music for Airports 1". It's even more neutral than Mozart.

Lifehacker.com on Brian Eno

Other than that, Magnetic Fields' "69 Love Songs."

i don't understand a word the lead singer says. Could be conducive to studying. hah.

I like to play porn videos in the background as I study...

I like to put on music from the "chillout" series... typically calm, peaceful songs and electronica with few words, helps me relax and think!
