    Hey guys,

I'm going to start med school next fall and right now I am trying to decide between two schools. A question I have is how highly should I regard time allotted to study for Step 1 by the schools while trying to make my decision.

For one school, there is a little more than a month between the end of second year and the beginning of clinical stuff for third year. For the other school, I would have close to two months.

I'm trying to understand if this time difference is going to be significant.
    Thanks for your help.

I think most people study for about one month - that's what I, and most of my classmates, did. So, either one would probably be fine. It is a nice bonus to have a vacation after Step 1 though!

I would not let a detail like this determine where you go to school. If you are getting closer to the exam (ie, mid-2nd year) and feel a little too unprepared, you can always start studying during the spring.
